HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) visited Charminar along with BRS leaders on Thursday.

“If the Government does any good in the last 10 years, it should be told to the people. But the new Congress Government under the leadership of Revanth Reddy is adamant. It is dealing with a political malaise and vendetta, ignoring the good and development that has occurred in the last ten years,” KTR observed while interacting with media at Charminar.

KTR opined that the decennial celebrations in Telangana, which was achieved with many sacrifices and struggles over the years, should have been in a festive atmosphere.

"The Congress is behaving foolishly and stubbornly by not recognising the development that has occurred over the years. The Revanth Reddy government is making foolish decisions so that KCR's name is erased,” he pointed out.

KTR said that Warangal and Hyderabad were two major icons of Telangana culture. “The heritage of the Kakatiya Empire is the Kakatiya arch. BRS strongly condemns the Government's decision to remove Charminar and Kakatiya arch from the State emblem,” KTR said.

Removing Charminar from the emblem would be an insult to every Hyderabadi, he said adding that people elected the Government to change the people's lives, to do good, to implement schemes, and to keep the promises made.

Urging the Government to avoid taking such decisions he advised Revanth Reddy not to act in a manner that would hurt the self-respect of the people and the Telangana movement.

“If the government does not withdraw its decision immediately, protests will be held across Telangana.

He recalled that it was the Congress Government that celebrated Hyderabad's 400th anniversary. “It is necessary to tell us what has just happened and why removing Charminar from the State emblem now. We want the Government to stop its arrogant attitude,” KTR said.
