HYDERABAD: After six days of vigorous search operations, the leopard spotted Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad was caught by the forest officials on Thursday night.

The presence of the cheetah on the airport runway had created a tense situation. However, the officials captured the leopard.

It may be recalled that the leopard was sighted near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad on Sunday, leaving the forest officials on their toes for six days.

The airport officials, who found the leopard entering into the fence of the airport near Gollapalli, alerted the forest department officials. The forest department officials then launched an operation to catch it.

The officials identified the area where the leopard was moving through CCTV camera and launched search operations by installing trap cameras and setting up cages to catch the leopard.

The collaborative efforts of the forest staff, police, and CISF officials, the leopard was caught on Thursday much to the relief of residents of Shamshabad area.
