HYDERABAD: The Mindspace Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) donated Rs 2 crore to the Cyberabad police for the construction of a Bharosa centre for women and children in distress under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

A demand Draft for the CSR funds was handed over to Avinash Mohanty, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, and Ramesh Kaza, secretary general of Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) at the commissioner's office, by Shrawan Gone, Chief Operating Officer (Telangana & AP) of K Raheja Corp.

Shrawan Gone said that "Mindspace REIT”, was deeply committed to community service with a special focus on empowering women. “Recognising the importance of providing a nurturing environment, we are dedicated to creating a centre with exceptional amenities where women feel not only comfortable and well cared for but also heard,” he said.

Ramesh Kaza said that SCSC was always at the forefront when it came to women's safety and this is another significant step in providing a permanent facility for the women to seek redressal of their grievances.

Avinash Mohanty said that the REIT undertook several initiatives for the benefit of society and this building would become a one point of contact facility for the women in distress. This building would consist of the Bharosa support centre for women and children.

The centre would support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community, and workplace. Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race, and culture would be facilitated with support and redressal with specialised services like counseling, and legal aid.
