HYDERABAD: The prestigious double-bedroom housing programme undertaken by the Telangana government has fulfilled the dream of the poor to own a house, said Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday.
He said this at the inaugural function of 210 double-bedroom houses built at a cost of Rs 1785 lakh at the SPR Hills of Kamalanagar under the Jubilee Hills constituency.
“Only a true leader like K Chandrashekar Rao will spend any amount of money to solve the problems faced by the common man,” he said reminding that the KCR government waived the pending bills of the beneficiaries under the Indiramma Housing scheme of the earlier governments.
One lakh 2bhk houses in Hyderabad
He informed that the Telangana government was building over one lakh dignity houses in Hyderabad city alone so that the urban poor could live comfortably. He said that construction of two blocks in the Kamalanagar project containing 210 BHK houses with seven lifts was undertaken at Rs 16,27,50,000 and basic amnesties were created at Rs 157.50 lakh. A 100 kl capacity water tank, quality power supply, and 15 shops were provided for the complex.
The minister said that the government spent Rs 8,50,000 on each two-bedroom flat. “We have distributed 89 houses to beneficiaries and the remaining 121 would be distributed after scrutiny by the local legislator and revenue officials,” he said.
