Ministers inaugurate foreStreck park in Manchirevula near ORR
The foreStreck park was developed by the TFDC on 256 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 7.38 crore under Chilkur forest block with a trekking and walking track for people
HYDERABAD: Telangana Ministers Indrakaran Reddy, Sabitha Indra Reddy and Patnam Mahendra Reddy have planted saplings as part of an initiative to plant one crore saplings under the flagship programme of ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haram’. They inaugurated the foreStreck park in Manchirevula village in Rajendra Nagar mandal of Ranga Reddy district on Saturday.
Rajya Sabha member Joginapalli Santosh Kumar and Chevella MP Ranjith Reddy, MLC Vani Devi and Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumar were also present. Later, they went round the park in a safari vehicle. Out of 109 urban forest parks, 73 parks were made available so far for the public and the 74th park was inaugurated at Manchirevula village.
The foreStreck park was developed by the Telangana State Forest Development Corporation Limited (TFDC) on 256 acres at an estimated cost of Rs 7.38 crore under Chilkur forest block in Ranga Reddy district with a trekking and walking track for people. Around 50,000 saplings of native species were planted after removing construction debris and in gap areas.
As part of protecting the urban lung space, this park was developed by TFDC with a new theme to provide a pleasant environment for the people of Gachibowli, Financial District, Gandipeta, Kokapeta and Manchirevula. A watch tower set up to view the skyline of the rapidly developing Hyderabad metropolis would be an additional attraction in this park.
The other facilities available in the park included a drinking water plant, toilet block, temple, open gymnasium, walking track, rock painting, trekking amphitheater, waterfall, balancing stones, baby elephant, eagle face, rocking stones and benches.
The TFDC officials said that the newly inaugurated foreStrek park in Manchirevula would generate an income of about Rs 3 lakh per month and 11 people would get employment on an outsourcing basis. Hundreds of visitors were expected to throng the park every day, while the numbers would increase up to 2,000 people on Sunday with the availability of trekking facilities in the park, the officials added.
