HYDERABAD: The Madhapur police arrested seven individuals on Wednesday for luring innocent customers through an online dating app, enticing them with images of beautiful girls and inviting them to Mosh Pub in Madhapur, Hyderabad.

The accused individuals, identified as Aakash Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Akshat Narula, Tarun, Shiv Raj Nayak, Rohith Kumar, and Cherkupally Sai Kumar, were apprehended in Nagpur, Maharashtra. They coerced customers into consuming expensive liquor at their pub through girls and defrauded them by overcharging with hefty bills. Eight mobile phones and two four-wheelers, totaling Rs. 40,00,000 in value, were seized from their possession.

They swindled approximately Rs. 30 lakhs from 50-60 customers, which they distributed among themselves using apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble. A case was registered under Cr. No: 633/2024, U/Sec: 406, 419, 420 IPC, at PS Madhapur, Cyberabad.

Modus Operandi

The first two accused, Aakash Kumar and Suraj Kumar, operate Devils Night Club in Delhi. Their modus operandi involves recruiting girls, registering them on online apps, and attracting customers outside cafes before bringing them to a specific pub (MOSH PUB).

They order food and beverages with high rates, and the bill amounts are shared among the pub owners, organizers, and girls. Communication under the guise of girls is managed by one particular individual within the gang.

This modus operandi is repeated in cities like Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to Nagpur. They target pubs with poor Google ratings and financial losses. In this specific pub, the accused operated for 45 days, particularly during six weekends.
