Nampally criminal court sentences man to death for killing wife in Old City of Hyderabad
The Addl MSJ of criminal court in Nampally awarded death penalty to the accused person Imran-Ul-Haq, 38, a car driver.
HYDERABAD: A person was sentenced to death by a Namapally criminal court here on Thursday.
The Addl Metropolitan Sessions Judge - IV of criminal court in Nampally awarded death penalty to the accused person Imran-Ul-Haq, 38, who is working as a car driver. Haq was a resident of Aman Nagar-B, Bhavani Nagar, near Talab Katta in Hyderabad. He was booked under section 302 (murder) and 498 A of the IPC.
The court presided over by Judge CVS Sai Bhupathi who pronounced the verdict awarding capital punishment to the person.
Addl public prosecutor K. Srivani conducted the prosecution and upon the investigation details produced by investigation officer N Venkateswarlu, Inspector of Police, the court pronounced and the verdict.
According to the verdict, “Haq was found guilty and sentenced to death and a fine Rs. 10,000. Aa
nd in default of payment of fine, the accused shall undergo simple imprisonment for a period of five months for 302 IPC. He shall be hanged by neck till he is dead and three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine Rs. ,5000and in default of payment of fine, the accused shall undergo simple imprisonment for a period of two months for 498(A) IPC accordingly.”
Haq killed his wife on January 6, 2019 and the court awarded punishment after three years of the murder.
Case details
This is a case of brutal murder, wherein the accused person Imran Ul Haq started torturing his wife, Naseem Akther, 35 physically and mentally on every petty matter and demand r Rs. 30,000 for purchasing a car.
His in-laws had raised objections to his second marriage and they insisted on him to decide whether to stay with their daughter Naseem Akther or with his second wife.
The second marriage caused severe financial distress to him and his wife and her parents stopped supporting him. Therefore, he had decided to eliminate his wife. On January 6, 2019 at about 5.30 PM, when his children had been to his in-laws’ house, he had asked his wife to prepare roti as he was hungry. She had told him that her mother was calling her and she would come back and prepare.
As he truebd angry, she came and began making rotis.
Meanwhile, Haq got a scissor, hammer and a screw driver to kill her and kept with him in the bed room.
Later, around 6 PM when his wife got into his bedroom and served food to him, he had demanded that she satisfied him sexually.
Soon, he took the scissor and slit her throat, and stabbed her in the eyes and hit her with hammer on the head and inserted screw driver into her vagina. He also inflicted several injuries on her body. He wrote a statement and made her sign saying that all her family members were responsible for her death as they had interfered with her family life.
However, upon listening to her screams, his younger brother-in-law Afsar came and tried to catch him. Haq fled the scene by holding scissor and hammer on his motorcycle and went to his second wife Maimoona Sulthana’s house and changed dress by keeping blood stained pant, shirt, shoes, hammer and scissor in a room.
The police soon arrested the accused and conducted the investigation and committed the case to the court.
