NIA seizes incriminating documents in lawyer Suresh’s residence, serves notice

HYDERABAD: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which undertook searches in multiple locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at the residences of sympathisers of left-wing extremism, found incriminating documents in the Vidyanagar residence of lawyer D Suresh.
The NIA, after seizing the documents, served notice to the lawyer, who was facing a similar case in Visakhaptnam . He was booked by the local police for allegedly having ties with the outlawed Maoists.
Later, the police transferred the case to NIA under the UAP (Unlawful Activities Prevention) Act. However, counsel for Suresh Kumar filed a quash petition seeking cancellation of the FIR.
