Police foil Kishan Reddy's 24-hour hunger strike, Union Minister falls unconscious

HYDERABAD: Union Tourism Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy's '24-hour hunger strike' at Indira Park over the unemployment issue was foiled by the police on Wednesday.
The incident has led to a tense atmosphere at Indra Park amid an altercation between the police and BJP activists leaving the Union Minister unconscious.
The Secunderabad MP while holding a 24-hour hunger strike at Dharna Chowk near Indra Park, the police arrived there at 6.30 PM and asked them to leave the place citing that there was no permission for protests after 6.
However, adamant Kishan Reddy made clear to the police that they would continue their strike till Thursday morning and warned of severe consequences if they were stopped.
The police who left Dharna Chowk initially once again arrived ther at 8 o'clock in the night and forcibly arrested Kishan Reddy and the party activists and tried to shift them.
However, Union Minister Kishan Reddy fell unconscious after the BJP activists prevented Kishan Reddy from being taken into custody.
The incident led to injuries to many BJP workers and cameramen present at the scene due to the scuffle. Kishan Reddy's security personnel expressed concern about his health as he was injured in the scuffle between the police and the BJP cadre. Later, Kishan Reddy was shifted from Dharna Chowk.
