HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old youth died under suspicious circumstances at Golden Hive Oyo lodge in Chandranaik Tanda, Madhapur on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Priya, a native of Pondicherry.
The police said that Priya, a native of Pondicherry came to Hyderabad on Tuesday. She along with her boyfriend Sri Hari completed their engineering course in Pondicherry. The duo were in a relationship for the past few months.
Sri Hari was a businessman in Chennai and he recently came to Hyderabad and booked a room in Golden Hive lodge. Priya and Sri Hari consumed liquor on Tuesday night. Sri Hari, who suffered from stomach pain due to food poisoning, went to hospital on Wednesday. After he returned from the hospital, he found Priya dead in the room.
Sri Hari immediately alerted the lodge staff and the police about Priya's death. Upon receiving information, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot and collected the food and liquor samples in the room. The body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. A case was registered under Section 174 of the CrPC and further investigations were underway into the incident.
