Rachakonda police issues traffic advisory for England Vs India test match

HYDERABAD: Rachakonda police issued a traffic advisory on Wednesday in view of the International Test Cricket Match between India and England scheduled at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad, from January 25 to January 29, 2024.

Traffic management plan

The Traffic Police Wing of Rachakonda Commissionerate has made a comprehensive traffic management plan to regulate both general traffic and spectators heading to the stadium for the India vs. England Test Cricket Match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad, from January 25 to January 29, 2024. Approximately 250 Traffic Personnel will be deployed on the match day to execute this traffic management plan.

The traffic management plan encompasses eight sectors, addressing areas in and around the Stadium. This includes designated parking areas for spectators, crucial junctions/main roads for general traffic, roads leading to the stadium, contingency diversions, and other relevant aspects.

Parking spots

There are a total of 15 parking locations available for both 4-wheelers and 2-wheelers. For spectators approaching from Route No. 1, which includes Secunderabad, Habsiguda, and Tarnaka, the designated parking locations are:

Signages, directional boards

Signages and directional boards will be strategically placed along the routes to the parking locations and the venue. Spectators should watch for important master directional boards and location maps at Uppal X Roads, Street No. 8 Junction, Habsiguda Junction, Ek-Minar Masjid, and other key locations.

Additionally, there will be a total of 38 Distance Alert Display Boards along the routes to parking locations. The comprehensive signage and informatory board placement effort will involve a total of 323 boards.

Suggestions for International test match spectators

The traffic police appealed to the public to cooperate with on-duty personnel and adhere to their directions. Parking locations will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so spectators are encouraged to arrive early and park at the nearest available location.

For real-time traffic updates, Traffic Police Rachakonda will communicate through Red Mirchi FM Channel. Spectators can tune in for the latest information.

To streamline access and avoid parking issues, spectators are recommended to use Metro Rail services. The pedestrian entry to the stadium is only meters away from the Stadium Metro Station, ensuring quicker access to the venue
