Rachakonda police track car of hit-and-run case that killed a man in Hayathnagar, kin demands justice

HYDERABAD: A person was killed after being hit by an over-speeding car at Hayathnagar almost three weeks ago. The deceased was identified as P Krishna Reddy.

However, the incident came to light on Friday, after the family members staged a protest before Hayathnagar police demanded the police to arrest the accused and punish them severely.

The police said that a couple identified as Pavan Reddy and Swetha Reddy were overspeeding in a White colour Benz car (TS08EZ6167) in Hayathnagar under the influence of alochol. At that moment, Pavan Reddy lost control of the wheel and hit the pedestrian Krishna Reddy who succumbed to the injuries.

Upon receiving information, the police examined CCTV footage in the locality and traced Varala Swetha Reddy as the owner of the car. The police registered a case under the Motor Vehicle Act and launched an inquiry into the incident to nab the accused.
