Report cyber crime frauds below Rs 50,000 in local police stations, Cyberabad CP urges people

HYDERABAD: With the number of cyber crime cases increasing day-to-day, several people are still not aware of the types of cyber crime or the mechanism to report related cases. In a major sigh of relief for the cyber crime victims, loss up to Rs 50,000 can be reported in the local police stations.
Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty on Wednesday said that earlier cases related to financial crimes of cyber crimes and in cases of loss of more than Rs 1.50 lakh people approached the Cyberabad Cyber Crimes Police Station to file a complaint and it was investigated.
The Cyberabad CP said that in case of loss of money less than Rs 1.5 lakh, people filed a complaint in the local police station. In recent times cyber crimes were increasing rapidly and people were facing a tough time in this regard. People who lost up to Rs 50,000 in any cyber crimes or online could report at the local police station. An inspector/deputy inspector rank official would investigate such cases, he said.
Avinash Mohanty said that people who lost more than Rs 50,000 in any cyber crime or online they should file a complaint with the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police Station. All those cases would be investigated by an inspector rank official from the station, he added.
