Scrapyard worker injured in explosion in Bholakpur

HYDERABAD: One person sustained severe burn injuries in an explosion at a scrap yard in Bholakpur area of Musheerabad on Saturday.
According to Musheerabad Inspector E Jahangeer Yadav, one Sirajuddin who rented a shop in the Bholakpur scrap yard, tried to open a box loaded with material suspected to be Molybdenum, a chemical in solid form, resulting in an explosion.
The intensity of the blast was such that Sirajuddin sustained more than 50 per cent of burns and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. However, police said that the scrap dealer must have used force to open the box resulting in the blast. They ruled out any other reason for the incident.
Police also summoned the clues team to collect samples at the blast site for further investigation.
