HYDERABAD: A BJP activist has attempted suicide by trying to set himself ablaze in demanding that Arvind Dharmapuri should not be given MP ticket again.
The BJP activist, identified as Satish from Jagtial district, doused himself with petrol and tried to set himself ablaze.
Other activists of the party who had gathered there poured water on him and prevented his bid to immolate himself.
Jagitial BJP activists protested against BJP MP Dharmapuri Aravind at the party State headquarters office in Nampally. They demanded that the party should not give Nizamabad MP ticket to Aravind.
Stating that they had been working for the party for the past 30 years, the BJP activists said the current Nizamabad MP ignored them and asserted that they would work to defeat Aravind from Nizamabad.
