HYDERABAD: Several train travellers vented their ire on social media on Tuesday after the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) website reported a technical glitch.
Several users took to Twitter to complain about the IRCTC server being down at peak time. The ticketing service on the IRCTC website and App typically experiences a surge in traffic from 10 am to 12 noon, particularly during tatkal ticket bookings.
"Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is currently unavailable. Our technical team is actively resolving the issue, and we will notify users as soon as it is fixed," IRCTC tweeted.
Most of the users reported that they received the following error message from IRCTC. "Due to maintenance activity e-ticketing service is not available. Please try later."
In response, the IRCTC tweeted, "Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is currently unavailable. Our technical team is actively resolving the issue, and we will notify users as soon as it is fixed."
Another tweet from IRCTC added, "Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is not available on IRCTC site and App. Technical team of CRIS is resolving the issue. Alternatively, tickets can be booked through other B2C players like Amazon, Makemytrip, etc."
