HYDERABAD: Cyberabad commissioner Stephen Raveendra asked officers to monitor liquor sales, identify sensitive shops, and conduct joint raids during a co-ordination meeting with Excise Department officials at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on Friday.

Stephen Raveendra held a coordination meeting with the excise department to ensure a free and fair election for the Telangana State Legislative Assembly in Cyberabad limits on November 20, 2023.

He also asked the officers to monitor belt shops, farm houses, and guest houses for liquor dumps and to register cases against Model Code of Conduct violators.

Stephen Raveendra emphasized the importance of coordinated enforcement efforts in the meeting. He discussed strategies and focused areas to curb illegal liquor and drug storage and transportation and reviewed seizures of illicit liquor, ganja, and Black jaggery during the meeting.

He also asked the officers to prevent misuse of liquor permissions for private parties and ensure no political interference exists. He requested the excise department to depute excise staff to the police check posts to establish an integrated check post.
