Students should focus on learning life skills for overall development: President Murmu at HPS fete
The President exhorted teachers and alumni that students should be nurtured to face any crisis. The President added that the students should focus not only in their progress but also of others.
HYDERABAD: President Droupadi Murmu has called for overall development of students and their need to focus on learning life skills.
Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Hyderabad Public School (HPS) on Tuesday, President Murmu lauded the HPS for producing talented alumni like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
"It is heartening to know that the HPS also enthuses students to focus on extra-curricular activities and also encourages critical thinking among students. Students should not only be proficient technically but also be fit emotionally," she said.

Earlier, Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said the students should be encouraged in sports. Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said that children should be encouraged outside classroom too, the Governor exuded confidence that HPS was giving due importance to the true spirit of the new National Education Policy.
Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya, Education Secretary Burra Venkatesam, HPS society President Gusti J Noria were present on the occasion.
