HYDERABAD: The Commissioner of the Food Safety Task Force inspected Sri Kalinga veg & nonveg restaurant in Sainkipuri and found several violations. Food items worth Rs 5,380 are seized and food items worth Rs 5,275 are discarded.

The Task Force found that dustbins were kept open in the kitchen area and ⁠some food handlers were not wearing headcaps, gloves, and aprons.

The drains were stagnated with water and food wastage was found in the kitchen. Vegetarian and non-veg raw materials are stored in the same refrigerator and don't have lids and labels.

There was no proper ventilation in the kitchen. The store is very congested, disorganised and food articles were lying on the floor. The floor of the store was untidy with lot of dust and mud patches.

From the entrance of the unit to the kitchen area emanated a foul smell. FSSAI true license copy not displayed at the premises. The food articles like Golisoda, Dalda(vanaspati), and Britannia bread, worth of Rs 950 expired hence discarded.

Food articles like nutmeg, broken cashews, flour, king cashews, and green Indian cardamom were unlabelled. All these items worth Rs 5,380 were seized.

Unlabelled prawns and crabs worth Rs 4,150 were discarded. The Task Force also found that the license number on the license copy and the bill were different. Medical fitness certificates and FOSTAC training certificates were not available with FBO.
