The Telangana High Court has issued interim orders directing Chiranjeevi not to go ahead with the construction on a disputed land purchased from Jubilee Hills Housing Co-operative Society
HYDERABAD: In a rude shock to Tollywood actor Megastar Chiranjeevi, the Telangana High Court has issued interim orders directing the former not to go ahead with the construction on a disputed land purchased by him from Jubilee Hills Housing Co-operative Society.
According to reports, the Jubilee Hills Housing Cooperative Society Committee has sold a 595-square yard land in survey numbers 102 and 120 to Chiranjeevi last year. The Tollywood actor has also started the construction on the said land.
However, members of the society J Srikanth Babu and others filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking directions to the actor to stop the construction. The counsel of the petitioners briefed the court that the land meant for public use was sold by the society which is against the rules.
The High Court, which heard the arguments over the petition, gave directions to Chiranjeevi to halt the construction besides asking GHMC, Jubilee Hills Housing Cooperative Society to file a counter. The court adjourned the hearing to April 24.
