Terror training in coaching centres; Gujarat ATS raids in Ameerpet
The searches followed the interrogation of four people including an 18-year-old detained on Tuesday
HYDERABAD: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad(ATS) on Wednesday raided several coaching centres in Ameerpet as part of an investigation into a terror case involving the prohibited Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP).
The searches were undertaken on suspicion that terror training was being provided in some of the coaching centres here under the guise of information technology (IT) instruction.
The searches followed the interrogation of four people including an 18-year-old detained on Tuesday. Two individuals were detained by the ATS on Tuesday night from the NTPC's Srinagar Colony in Godavarikhani, according to reports.
The ATS reportedly detained Mohammed Javed (46) and his daughter Khadija (18) and shifted them to Hyderabad. The father and daughter, who reside in Hyderabad's Tolichowki area, visited their relative's home in NTPC in Godavarikhani four days ago.
Earlier on Tuesday, the ATS also reportedly questioned two sympathisers in the Kalapather area of Hyderabad, during which their statements were recorded as witnesses in one of the terror-related cases.
The Gujarat ATS carried out an operation against the ISKP module in Porbandar, Surat, earlier this month, and detained five individuals, including Sameera Bano and four men from Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
