Third edition of GMR Hyderabad Airport run saw record turnout of over 3,800 runners

HYDERABAD: The third edition of the 'Hyderabad Airport Run', organised by GMR Hyderabad International Airport kicked off with a bang like never before.

The Airport run soared to new heights with around 4,000 enthusiastic runners hitting the tracks in the 5k and 10k run.

The marathon was flagged off by SGK Kishore, ED, South & Chief Innovation Officer, GMR Airports, and Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, to thunderous cheers from the audience.

This year's event featured six age groups: 14 to 39 years old (Men & Women), 40 to 59 years old (Men & Women), and 60 years and more (Men & Women). Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, presented medals and prizes to the winners.

Speaking on the occasion Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd said, “Hyderabad Airport run is an annual spectacle that brings the communities of the airport & city together with a dash of fitness and fun against the backdrop of the airport's green environs. Last year the run witnessed an encouraging response from nearly 3000 participants. This year around 4000 participants joined the run. Runners and Sports enthusiasts shared passion for fitness participated with gusto. With irresistible entertainment, delectable food to devour and music that kept the spirit of carnival high, the platform was an evening of pure fun for one & all. We are thankful to all the participants, our partners, sponsors and organizers who made this event a grand success.”

The Airport Run was followed by a fun- filled evening with the ever-popular Shreeram Chandra enthralling the audience with his foot-tapping music. That’s not all!

A host of entertaining activities was laid out at the venue, which included fusion dance, flash mobs, nail art, flea market, play zone for children, food stalls and other amusement activities for the participants, airport community and their families.
