HYDERABAD: A pet Husky became a bone of contention between two families in Rahmatnagar of Hyderabad. Three members of two families and the pet dog received grievous injuries in the clash that erupted on Wednesday. Police have arrested five persons in the case.

According to Maduranagar police, where two tensions between neighbours Madhu and Dhanunjay started after Madhu’s pet Husky allegedly attacked the family members of Dhanunjay on May 8, while they were on their way to cast votes through postal ballot. A case was registered based on the complaints of both families.

However, seething with anger Dhanjay along with four others viciously attacked Madhu’s brother Srinath who took the dog out for a walk. The assailants used iron rods and attacked Srinath relentlessly. Srinath’s mother Rajeshwari and sister Swapna who tried to stop the attack also received injuries.

All the injured and the dog were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Maduranagar police registered a case under sections 147, 148,307 r.w 34 IPC and section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. All the individuals involved in the attack were arrested.
