Two feared killed as training aircraft from Dundigal crashes near Toopran
The villagers nearby who rushed to the spot said that they heard a big thud around 8 am and rushed to the spot from where a big plume of smoke was emanating.
HYDERABAD: A training aircraft crashed into a hillock near Ravelli village of Toopran mandal in Medak district on Monday morning. The aircraft was gutted and police are ascertaining the origins of the early morning flight.
The police during the initial investigation said that the aircraft belonged to the Air Force Academy near Dundigal as it was a common practice that the cadet pilots take their training sorties over Toopran.
Based on the configuration of the training aircraft, it was suspected that one trainee pilot and a trainer must have perished in the fire that engulfed the aircraft immediately after the crash.
