Two TSRTC bus drivers bag 'Heroes on the Road' awards, Chairman, MD shower praises

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has received two national awards under Road Safety Category wherein two drivers were selected for the prestigious 'Heroes on the Road' awards.
The Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), a central government body, on Saturday announced awards in both urban and rural categories to this extent
As per the ASRTU, K. Ranga Reddy of Kushaiguda depot and K. Somi Reddy of Suryapet depot were selected for the awards for the best performance in their duties safely in their service.
Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will present the awards to the winners on April 18 in New Delhi and felicitate the drivers K. Ranga Reddy and K. Somi Reddy with certificates, cash prizes, and trophies.
On this occasion, MD VC Sajjanar, and Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan congratulated the drivers selected as the best drivers under ‘Heroes on the Road’ category.
Stating that these awards would enhance the reputation of TSRTC, MD Sajjanar advised drivers in the corporation to take their services as inspiration. He called upon the TSRTC bus drivers to perform their duties cautiously saying that the driving duty had become hectic.
The TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan said that the organisation had focused on the prevention of road accidents by initiating revolutionary changes in the transport department. They said that a special officer was appointed to each depot to investigate the accidents that occurred and take steps to ensure that accidents are minimised.
Saying that comprehensive training program was being implemented to train all the rental bus drivers in the state for a week, Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy said that more programs on road safety would be brought to the fore in the future.
