US Consul General hosts reception for Senator Todd Young
Todd Young was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016 and re-elected in 2022
HYDERABAD: US Consul General Jennifer Larson on Friday hosted a reception for Senator Young with representatives from the consular area in Hyderabad.
Senator Young on Friday met with staff at the new US Consulate General in Nanakramguda, where he also took part in a roundtable discussion on science and technology supply chains to deepen ties following the enactment of the CHIPS and Science Act.
He has lunch with local leaders who attended universities in the U.S. state of Indiana and met with alumni of the U.S. Department of State’s Kennedy-Lugar Fellowship, an educational exchange program co-founded by the late Richard Lugar, who also served as a U.S. Senator from Indiana. Senator Young then wrapped up his visit by joining an iftar with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
Todd Young was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2016 and re-elected in 2022. He currently serves in the U.S. Senate Committees on Foreign Relations; Finance; Commerce, Science & Transportation; and Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
As part of the Committee on Foreign Relations, he also serves on the Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism. Senator Young was previously elected to three terms as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1991-2000, attaining the rank of Captain.
