HYDERABAD: Valentine’s Day celebrates the true spirit of love, the spirit of being with someone you connect with. Be it your friends or that special someone, whoever you call your Valentine, the day is meant to be with them.

Celebrated on February 14 annually, Valentine’s Day was first celebrated as a romantic holiday in the 14th century, with the onset of spring and chirping of love birds. Some also believe that as flowers were offered to St Valentine on this day that commemorates his death, this slowly turned into a day where flowers or other presents are gifted to your loved ones.

But, what would one do if they are still searching for that special someone.

It’s 2023, and people from across the world are hopping on to dating apps with hope of matching with that right person. What are the best dating apps which have proven to make a difference in love lives.

Bumble

India’s top rated dating app Bumble allows you to select your matches after going through endless profiles on the app. It has features where one can add about them starting from their likes and dislikes, to their zodiac sign.

Bumble is rated 4.2 stars on the playstar and has over 5 crore downloads. It started in 2014, by the Vice-President of another famous dating app, Tinder.

Tinder

Tinder, launched in 2012, was the first-of-its kind dating app where single people could create their profile with their pictures and details and one could swipe right or swipe left to match with or unapprove someone’s profile. The app was initially widely used by youths across the globe.

In India too, people used this app before any other dating platforms. However, due to the increasing number of fraudsters and fake profiles in the app, the user base of the app lost momentum. Tinder did include features like ‘face verification with selfie’ to verify accounts and reduce the number of fake profiles, people are still preferring other dating apps over Tinder.

Aisle

Aisle, which was also launched in 2014 alongside Bumble, is widely being used among the youth in the current date. The application launchers understood the growing importance of intended dating and is now one of the only apps with vernacular dating options. It first started with ‘Arike’ a dating app for Malayalees to connect. Now, in the Telugu states, the Aisle app lets individuals connect with Telugu speaking people. Even Aisle offers features where individuals can upload their photos and details to create profiles and swipe until they find their perfect match.
