New Zealand is maintaining its outstanding performance in the 2023 World Cup, securing a three-game winning streak and claiming the top position on the points table. In the latest match against Bangladesh, New Zealand exhibited dominance and secured an impressive victory with 8 wickets to spare.

Bangladesh faced a sluggish start while batting first, as Trent Boult dismissed Litton Das on the very first ball of the match. Subsequently, Tanzid Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Shanto failed to make an impact, with Lockie Ferguson taking two of these crucial wickets. It was only the 96-run partnership between skipper Shakib Al Hasan (40) and Mushfiqur Rahim (66) that stabilized Bangladesh's innings. However, Lockie Ferguson once again came to New Zealand's rescue, removing Shakib from the equation. Mahmudullah (41*) provided valuable support to Mushfiqur, ultimately helping Bangladesh reach a total of 245/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Lockie took three wickets (3/49), while Boult (2/45) and Matt Henry (2/58) claimed two wickets each.

Chasing this modest target posed no significant challenge for New Zealand. Despite an early dismissal of opener Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway (45), Kane Williamson (78), and Daryl Mitchell (89*) guided their team to a comfortable victory. Kane Williamson, in his first World Cup match after recovering from injury, delivered a splendid performance by scoring 78 runs. New Zealand reached a total of 248/2 in just 42.5 overs, sealing the win with ease.

New Zealand's next match is scheduled against Afghanistan on October 18, while Bangladesh will face India on October 19.

Scorecard:

Bangladesh: 245/9 (50 overs)

New Zealand: 248/2 (42.5 overs)
