10-year-old school girl killed in a road accident in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old schoolgirl was killed in a road accident in Hyderabad's Habshiguda area.

The incident occurred Thursday evening when Kameshwari, a sixth-grade student at Johnson Grammar School, was on her way home with her mother, Santoshi, and younger brother, Vedansh, on a scooter. A lorry coming from the Uppal side hit their scooter from behind, causing Santoshi and Vedansh to fall to the side, while Kameshwari was trapped under the lorry's wheels.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Kameshwari was pronounced dead by the doctors. Santoshi and Vedansh sustained minor injuries.

The local police have registered a case and seized the lorry, but the driver is absconding. An investigation is underway to locate him.
