2 youths drowned during swimming trip in Godavari river near Bhadrachalam

BHADRACHALAM: The bodies of two students, who went missing in the Godavari River in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Sunday evening, were extricated on Monday.
According to the information, six youths belonging to Kota Colony, AMC Colony, MP Colony, Ashok Nagar and Jagadish Colony of Bhadrachalam ventured into the Godavari River near Etipaka village for swimming on Sunday evening. Two of them drowned in the river and went missing while the remaining four reached the banks safely.
But, the four youths informed their parents late about the mishap. The police swung into action and, along with locals, carried out a search operation.
Bhadradri Town Inspector Nagaraju Reddy, Sub-Inspector Madhu Prasad, constables Koti and Odela themselves went into the river as part of the search operations and finally recovered the two dead bodies. The families of the two dead were shattered by the tragic turn of events.
