4 interstate drug peddlers arrested, 900-kg ganja seized in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone, along with Alair Police, have arrested four interstate drug peddlers -- Vikas Baban Salve, Vinod Chandravan Kalkar, Kishore Thulshiram Wadekar and Kosa Chitti Babu – and seized 900 kg ganja and other assets, all worth over Rs 2 crores.

According to reports, the accused were smuggling ganja from Malkangiri of Odisha to Maharashtra via Hyderabad. Earlier too, they had smuggled ganja in the same route using coconut trade as their cover.

The police seized 900 kg marijuana, one Eicher (DCM) vehicle containing a coconut load, five mobile phones and Rs 3,100 cash, all worth about Rs 2 crores.
