8-month-old dies after a wall collapses on her in Borabanda

HYDERABAD: An eight-month-old baby girl died on the spot after a side wall of an under-construction building collapsed and fell on the shed where the baby was staying at Rahmatnagar near Borabanda of Hyderabad on Wednesday.

According to police, a couple Srikanth and Jagadevi from Narayankhed of Sangareddy district, along with their son and daughter, came to Hyderabad for livelihood and are staying at Om Nagar in Rahmatnagar. The couple along with their daughter Jevanika, as usual, fell asleep in their shed on Tuesday night.

The side wall on the fourth floor of an under-construction building adjacent to the portion where the couple was staying collapsed due to heavy rain and the bricks fell on the room killing Jevanika on the spot. The couple and their son escaped. Police registered a case.
