80-year-old woman gang raped in Medchal

HYDERABAD: An incident of rape involving an 80-year-old woman from Banda Madaram village in Medchal mandal came to light late on Friday.

The elderly woman was reportedly raped by a man from the same village, while two other youths, suspected of involvement, are currently absconding.

Locals discovered the woman and rushed her to a government hospital using a 108 ambulance for medical examination. One suspect was caught by the locals, who apprehended and beat him up before handing him over to the police.

The Medchal police have registered a case and begun an investigation. The police are actively searching for the two absconding suspects believed to be involved in the crime.
