Auto-rickshaw driver dies by suicide due to financial troubles in Kothagudem

KOTHAGUDEM: A 54-year-old auto driver died by suicide through self-immolation due to severe financial difficulties and family problems.

Koppula Immanuel, a resident of Hanuman Basti in Kothagudem town, had taken a loan to buy an auto and had been struggling with financial problems for some time. These pressures, coupled with family issues, led him to become addicted to alcohol. After a quarrel at home, his wife left him and returned to her parents' house, further worsening his mental state.

In a state of deep distress, Immanuel poured diesel on himself and set himself on fire at his home. Family members and locals quickly extinguished the flames and rushed him to the Kothagudem Government Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
