Bajaj store burglary case: Rachakonda police arrest two Alam Gang members
The Rachakonda Police have arrested two persons in connection with the burglary of a Bajaj Electronics Showroom
HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda Police (Kushaiguda division) have arrested two persons in connection with the burglary of a Bajaj Electronics Showroom in the city on the intervening night of September 20-21. About 432 cell phones of various brands worth Rs 70 lakhs were stolen from the showroom.
Giving details of the investigation of the case at a press conference here on Thursday, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said that the two arrested persons were part of the 'Alam gang' that burgled the showroom located in Kushaiguda. "We have examined more than 500 CCTV visuals to trace the accused and solved the case with the help of Malkajgiri CCS team, IT wings, dog squad, SOT and clues team," said the Rachakonda CP. The members of the gang hail from Jharkhand and are notorious for striking at big showrooms and business establishments to steal valuable items.
After the burglary, the accused persons had fled the city by train and bus, added Bhagwat.
With investigation revealing that the accused are natives of Jharkhand, a special police team headed by the Detective Inspector (DI) of Kushaiguda Guruva Reddy was sent to the state to apprehend them. "The fingerprints of the members of the Alam gang, matched with those in previous robbery cases that happened in Maharashtra. Search operations are on to apprehend the remaining members of the gang involved in the burglary," said the Rachakonda Commissioner.
