NALGONDA: Around 400 students of the Tummadam BC Gurukul Girls School in Haliya of Nalgonda district staged a protest, expressing their frustration over being served substandard food, which they claimed often contained insects. The students refused to attend classes and gathered in the auditorium to voice their grievances.

According to the protesting students, the midday meals regularly included rice with insects and water-diluted chicken and sambar, making it impossible for them to eat properly. "We are left hungry every day," the students lamented, adding that even stray dogs were treated better than them.

When the students approached the school principal with their concerns, they alleged that the principal responded rudely. Many of the students threatened to collectively leave the school if the situation did not improve, stating they would take their Transfer Certificates (TC) and leave.
