HYDERABAD: Bigg Boss Season 7 winner Pallavi Prashanth was arrested by Jubilee Hills Police and taken into remand. The arrest, made in Gajwel last night, followed a six-hour interrogation.

The police asserted that the arrest was related to the destruction of government and private properties. Emphasizing that celebrity status does not exempt one from legal consequences, the police urged the public to refrain from behaving as if they were above the law.

At night, Pallavi Prashanth and his brother were brought before a judge, who remanded them to 14-day judicial custody. Subsequently, the police escorted them to Chanchalguda Jail.

The arrest is connected to an incident at Annapurna Studio during the Bigg Boss Season 7 finals on the 17th of this month. Fans gathered in large numbers, and some engaged in vandalism and damaged cars and buses, leading to the registration of a case by the police.

During the chaos, Pallavi Prashanth was sent by the police from another gate, but he returned with rented cars for a rally among his fans. Despite warnings from the police, clashes ensued, destroying two police vehicles. A case was registered against Prashanth, his brother Manohar, his friend Vinay, and the drivers of the rented cars, Saikiran and Raju. Earlier, the court had remanded the drivers Saikiran and Raju for 14 days.

CPI National Secretary Narayana demanded that the police file a case against Nagarjuna, the show's host, rather than the participants of the Bigg Boss show.

The police on Thursday arrested 16 more persons who were involved in damaging the buses and police vehicles after the Bigg Boss Season 7 finale. Among them 12 were majors and four were minors. All the arrested persons would be produced before the court by Jubilee Hills policed.
