KAMAREDDY: A case of child marriage has come to light in Kamareddy’s Ramareddy mandal, where a 10th-grade girl was married off to a 24-year-old man by her parents. The marriage reportedly took place in the early hours, around 3 a.m., with the family conducting the ceremony secretly.

However, the wedding was stopped shortly after by Child Welfare Committee (CWC) officials, who intervened and suspected that the girl might be pregnant. Medical examinations are expected to be conducted to confirm this suspicion.

The authorities have registered a case and provided counselling to both the girl's and the groom's parents. The minor girl has been moved to a government shelter, Balasadan, as investigations continue.
