Crackdown on fake doctors in Telugu States: 50 identified, two jailed

HYDERABAD: A recent crackdown by medical councils in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh uncovered 50 fake doctors operating in various areas. These findings emerged from inspections carried out by teams of eight members each.
During these simultaneous inspections, officials discovered that the fake doctors were admitting patients to their health centres and administering antibiotics on a large scale. The imposter practitioners had also set up medical shops and diagnostic centres, falsely claiming to be legitimate medical professionals.
Authorities registered FIRs against around 50 fake doctors. Two of these individuals were already sent to jail. The medical councils continued to investigate and take action to safeguard public health and uphold medical standards in the region.
