Damayyiguda Municipal Commissioner arrested by ACB for accepting bribe

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested S. Raja Mallayya, the Municipal Commissioner of Damayyiguda, for demanding and accepting a bribe.

The arrest was made following an investigation that revealed Mallayya had accepted a Rs 50,000 bribe from Enishetty Sudarshan, a resident of Ramnagar, Hyderabad.

ACB officials conducted a recovery operation and performed a chemical test on the recovered bribe money, which confirmed that Mallayya had indeed accepted the bribe. Following this confirmation, Mallayya was taken into custody.
