Drug peddler arrested; 43 LSD blots seized
The accused, Lakshmipathi, discontinued B Tech due to his addiction to ganja. Previously, he was involved in six drug-related cases.
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW), in coordination with the Jubilee Hills Police, apprehended a drug peddler and seized 43 LSD blots, a KIA car, and a cell phone. The total value of the seized items is estimated at Rs. 11,50,000.
The accused was identified as 28-year-old V. Lakshmipathi, also known as Lucky or LP. He is a resident of Bhongir, Yadadri district.
He was also involved in six drug-related cases registered in Nalgonda II Town, Hayathnagar, Golconda, Afzalgunj, and Nallakunta police stations in Telangana, and S Kota PS of Andhra Pradesh.
Lakshmipathi, initially a B.Tech student, discontinued his studies due to addiction to ganja. He began procuring ganja from Araku and selling it to consumers. Later, attending social parties in Goa and Kasol, he realised the profitability of selling various drugs. He started sourcing drugs from Goa, Kasol, and Mumbai through private travel channels and sold them at a profit. In the current case, Lakshmipathi procured LSD blots from Mumbai through courier services and paid suppliers by depositing money into different accounts. He resold the drugs to consumers using cash-on-delivery mode, ensuring anonymity through Snapchat to evade police surveillance.
The arrest was made under the supervision of HNEW DCP S Rashmi Perumal with the efforts of Inspectors K. Srinivas and G.S. Daniel, SI C. Venkata Ramulu, and the HNEW staff, along with SHO K. Venkateshwar Reddy and staff from Jubilee Hills Police Station.
