HYDERABAD: A person was caught red-handed misbehaving with schoolgirls during SHE Team's decoy operation near the school's premises in the IT corridor.
In response to a complaint from a teacher at a public school, the SHE Team IT Corridor executed a decoy operation close to the school's premises.
The offender was apprehended at Gachibowli police station and charged with misbehaviour under Section 70(C) of the City Police Act.
The SHE teams received a WhatsApp complaint from a mother of a schoolgirl whose daughter is in SSC and used to walk to school. Reportedly, the boy followed her and misbehaved with her. SHE Team Rajendrangar launched a decoy operation on the school grounds and caught him in this regard. On further investigation, it was discovered that he was a narcotics peddler.
A case has been filed, and further investigation is underway. She and her team appeal to everyone that they are just a phone call or click away. They have urged people to report any taunting or harassment to SHE Teams as soon as possible by sending Whatsapp messages to 9490617444, sending an e-mail to sheteam.cyberabad@gmail.com, or dialling 100 in an emergency.
She said teams have further requested parents, educational institutions, and the general public to "educate your children, students, and family members" about the dangers of illegal activity. If anyone harasses or teases women, strict action will be taken against them under the IPC and POCSO acts, and harsh punishment will be meted out.
