Eatery staffer falls from fifth floor of PVP Mall in Vijayawada, dies

VIJAYAWADA: A young staffer working in an eatery in PVP Mall in Vijayawada died after a fall from the fifth floor of the building on Tuesday night. He was identified as Das, an employee at Barbi Q located in the mall. The incident came to light on Wednesday. The police were probing if it was a case of suicide or was there any foulplay involved in it.

Reportedly, Das was involved in an altercation with a fellow colleague before the incident. The worker is believed to have resorted to the extreme step after being reprimanded by the eatery management. According to reports, Das jumped off the fifth floor of the building around 11:30 pm.

The local police, as part of their investigation, were trying to ascertain if it was a case of suicide or whether Das was pushed down from the building. The body was shifted to the Vijayawada government hospital for a post-mortem examination and investigation was going on.
