Elderly woman alleges neglect by son, approaches Kodad RDO for help

KODAD: In a heartbreaking incident, an elderly woman from Gandhi Nagar, Kodada Mandal, Suryapet district, has alleged that her only son and daughter-in-law were neglecting her and refusing to provide even basic care.

The woman, identified as Somapangu Venkamma, a retired municipal worker, approached the Kodad Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) seeking help.

Venkamma, who retired after serving as a municipal worker, expressed her anguish, stating that her son and his wife have been mistreating her and have even taken control of her pension. Tearfully, she told the RDO that despite raising and educating her son, she is now left without support, even lacking food.

The Kodad RDO, after hearing her plight, assured her that legal action would be taken to ensure justice for her.
