Elderly woman murdered in gold robbery in Hayathnagar

HYDERABAD: An elderly woman was brutally murdered by slitting her throat by a gang of bandits who decamped with her gold jewellery in Hayathnagar of Hyderabad.

Satyamma (78), lived alone in Hayathnagar while her sons reside in LB Nagar. The assailants, believed to be a gang of robbers, broke into Satyamma's house while she was sleeping and killed her by slitting her throat. After getting hold of gold jewellery from the house, the culprits fled the place.

On being informed by the locals, the police reached the spot and launched an inquiry into the incident. After shifting the dead body to a government hospital, they registered a case and launched a manhunt for the gang of robbers.
