Excise STF arrests two in Hyderabad for ganja sale, seizes over 7 kg of drugs

Two suspects involved in selling ganja in Hyderabad were arrested, with one suspect still absconding.

HYDERABAD: Excise Special Task Force (STF) police arrested two individuals involved in the illegal sale of ganja in Hyderabad.

In the first case, Kishore Das, hailing from Malkangiri in Odisha, was caught selling ganja from his fast-food centre in Ramchandrapuram. Police, acting on a tip-off, apprehended him on Wednesday while transporting ganja from Odisha. Authorities seized 6.715 kg of ganja and Rs 7,000 in cash from the accused.

In another incident, the Excise STF team arrested Ganesh Singh in the Kukatpally city circle. Singh, along with an accomplice, Umesh Singh, who is currently absconding, had been selling ganja in the area for some time. Based on reliable information, police arrested Ganesh Singh on Wednesday and seized 1.080 kg of ganja from him.

The police are continuing their investigation to apprehend the absconding Umesh Singh.
