SURYAPET: A farmer attempted suicide by consuming pesticides outside a police station on Wednesday, fearing a false case being filed against him. The incident occurred in Neredcherla of Suryapet district.

According to Sub-Inspector Ravinder Naik, the victim, identified as Maloth Anil (27), was involved in a land dispute with another farmer, Lavuri Bharathi, both residents of Burgul Tanda village. The conflict escalated on August 4, leading to a physical altercation.

On Wednesday, Bharathi arrived at the Neredcherla police station to file a complaint against Anil. As police were discussing the situation with village elders, Anil panicked and consumed the pesticides he had brought with him.
