Farmer dies by suicide over unpaid loan in Mahabubabad
Mahabubabad farmer ends life due to financial distress and lack of loan waiver.
HYDERABAD: A farmer from Dharavathu Tanda in Dornakal mandal of Mahabubabad district died by suicide due to financial difficulties and the non-waiver of his crop loan.
The incident occurred on Monday when the farmer, Ravi (53), did not return home after visiting his fields.
Ravi's wife went looking for him in the evening and found him unconscious after consuming pesticide. She immediately alerted the locals, who arranged for Ravi to be taken to the district government hospital in a 108 ambulance. Despite receiving treatment, Ravi passed away at the hospital.
According to sources, Ravi had an outstanding crop loan of Rs 2,46,000, jointly held with his wife, and additional debts. The burden of these financial obligations, coupled with the delay in the loan waiver, pushed him into severe distress, ultimately leading to his tragic decision.
