Four held in misfired kidnap bid by Siddipet BJP leader Chakradhar Goud

HYDERABAD: Ghatkesar police nabbed four people on Monday who were involved in an attempted abduction and robbery in the Medipally area of Hyderabad.

According to the police, the victim Keesara Avinash Reddy gave a loan of Rs. 30 lakhs to a female friend Arushika Reddy. Instead of repaying the money, she promised to marry him and informed his family members as well.

Later, she began to avoid him and enlisted the help of Siddipet resident Gadhagoni Chakradhar Goud, who again promised to repay the money on Arushika Reddy's behalf. He started texting him on WhatsApp, informing him that he would pay the money on behalf of Arushika Reddy.

The accused Chakradhar Goud called Avinash Reddy at 9 p.m. on June 25, 2023, and informed him he would give him the money and requested him to meet him at the Vandana hotel near Gattumaisamma shrine in Ghatkesar.

Chakradhar Goud and his friends attempted to kidnap and rob Avinash Reddy when he arrived for the planned meeting. However, he immediately escaped from them and searched for them with his friends, but they were not found.

According to the police, Chakradhar Goud, married Arushika Reddy, the victim's neighbour and friend, in 2018. Arushika Reddy borrowed Rs 25 lakh rupees from Avinash Reddy prior to her marriage.

She returned Rs 9 lakh rupees to him in the month of January 2023. Later, Avinash Reddy insisted on repaying the remaining money, which he had been requesting for the past 20 days.

Since Avinash Reddy had asked for repayment, Chakradhar Goud hatched a scheme to kidnap Avinash Reddy and texted him on WhatsApp, promising to refund money and settle the dispute on his wife's behalf.

According to his plan, he invited Avinash Reddy to the Vandana Hotel on June 25 and attempted to kidnap him. However, the victim escaped and a police case was filed against the accused.

The sleuths of Ghatkesar police apprehended four accused members of the attempted kidnapping and robbery of Avinash Reddy on Tuesday night in Medipally.

A case was registered in Ghatkesar police station under the relevant sections.
