GHMC woman worker murdered for jewellery in Chikkadpally

HYDERABAD: A 60-year-old woman worker of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was brutally murdered in a case of robbery at Chikkadpally here late on Saturday night. Unidentified assailants killed the victim, Lakshmamma, by slitting her throat when she was busy with her duties on the road.

The assailants relieved her body of gold and silver jewellery before dumping the corpse in Nagamaiah Kunta Basti.

On being informed by locals, the Chikkadpally police and a clues team inspected the spot to collect material evidence. Lakshmamma's body was later shifted to the mortuary of Gandhi Hospital for a postmortem examination. While investigating the case, the police are also collecting the footage of nearby CCTV surveillance cameras which hold the key in identifying the culprits.
